I'm not sure where this question should go so if it's in the wrong place I apologize.
I would like to use something like a QR code or something similar within a Windows Phone application which can be used to identify a physical object.
For example, if a customer decides to purchase a lamp, on the box I would have a QR code which would be used on a Windows Phone "check out" program I'm building to scan the item in and pull down pricing details which will be used for POS. Because these items may not be manufactured by known companies (individuals may bring items to sell) there isn't a registered bar code on these items. I was thinking that a QR code might work but I wasn't exactly sure how this would function.
Does anyone know if a QR code is able to be used in this manner? If so, can you point me to any resources for this? If not, are there any recommendations on similar tagging systems that I may be able to use?
